In a small brick building in Knoxville, Tennessee, a tribe of Warrior students and teachers come together each day to strengthen themselves, their school, and the community that surrounds them. They strengthen each other with laughter and cha-chings. They strengthen the school with hard work in the classroom, on the court, and in the garden. They strengthen the community with sponsored events that spread knowledge, joy, and art.
The same Warriors that take care of each other deserve the opportunity to take care of themselves.
The Total Wellness Club at our school is a space where student Warriors can train- the Club offers lessons to students that support mental health wellness, nutritional health, and social responsibility. The Wellness Warriors spend 30 minutes each morning learning how to love themselves and take action with each other for the world.
We are Wellness Warriors and we are well.
My Project
The Total Wellness Club at WSMS supports one main objective:

Your funding helps us to meet this objective in the following ways:
Every Monday, Wellness Warriors can learn about new mindfulness techniques and other strategies for coping with trauma, stress, and anxiety. Warriors can roll out their new yoga mats, brew a cup of hot tea quickly using our new tea kettle, and practice controlled breaths and stretches.
Wellness Warriors can learn about Nutritional Health on Tuesdays. We can blend green smoothies in our new Personal blender and come spring, we can dip our fresh veggies from the Warrior Garden in an herb vinaigrette made from our new Mini Food Processor.
On Wednesdays, Wellness Warriors work in teams to accomplish a task. Wednesdays will begin with an icebreaker as determined by our new thumb ball.
Thursdays are dedicated to the health and wellness of the place we all call home- planet Earth. On Thursdays, we will spin the compost tumbler to ensure our garden goodies are fueled up! We can help the Gardening Club because growing food isn't a one-club job.
On Fridays, Friends of Wellness Warriors visit to discuss different ways we can help in the community. With Friends, Warriors discuss the idea of philanthropy and choose how to make their own contributions to the surrounding Warrior community.
