This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are very sweet and hard-working. They come from homes that do not have much. Most of my students come from homes that have single mothers raising them. These single mothers usually work several part-time jobs to get by. Most of these students come to school at 6:30 a.m. for the before-school program and stay until about 5:30 p.m. They have breakfast, lunch, and dinner at school.
Even though these students have tough challenges in their lives, they still make the most of their day and put forth their best effort.
They truly want to excel in school and in life. These students deserve to have all the opportunities that others have despite their daily challenges.
My Project
The stuffed toys, glitter sticks, squishy items, and stress balls will make a difference with my students' learning. My students will be able to calm themselves by playing with stress relief items. When my students get upset, they will go to the calming corner.
My students will be able to go to the calming corner and read some books, play with calming toys and just relax.
By allowing my students to get an opportunity to relax in the calming corner, they will to be able to focus on their academics once they compose themselves.
My students would be able to control their emotions while relaxing and playing with some calming items.
