Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

These new books and pointers will be added to our individual book baskets which we use during our literacy block. We will use the new books during our independent time to retell familiar stories with a classmate. We love being able to retell a familiar story.

All of our students want to be strong "Super Readers", that use all the super powers they have learned are important for becoming a super reader!

I am using the Super Reader League packets from kinder by Kim. We use retelling every week in Kindergarten. We will use the books as familiar stories to retell with our classmates.

Each time we learn a new super power, we will receive a special gift from the super reader club to help reinforce a new super reading power. The many different pointers and magnifying glasses will be a surprise as we learn new skills as we become Super Readers! Using the "Super Reader League" will build confidence, book lovers and skills that are needed to be a strong reader!
