The students at my school come from high poverty. A full 90% of our school is living in high poverty. All students at my school receive free breakfast and lunch. My school is a Title I school, and my students are five and six years old.
For many of my students, this is their first experience in a learning environment.
Reading is such an important part of learning. Reading is a skill that my students will need to use to learn and thrive in the world. It is important that my young learners are surrounded by books that interest them and are on their instructional level to ensure that they develop a love of reading and learning. As a second-year teacher, it is important to me that I provide all the necessary resources to my students to make sure they get the best learning experience possible.
My Project
These readers will make a difference in my students' lives because it will provide them with a variety of books that interest them. This will help to motivate my students to read and learn about the world. These materials will also provide my students with books that are on their reading level to ensure that all students have books that support their needs to help them grow as a reader.
Readers are Leaders!
My young learners are finding out that readers are leaders. My students know that if they learn to read, nobody can stand in the way of their dream career. The books in this project will provide my students with the necessary resources to be motivated to read and learn. This project will help my students grow as readers, learners, and leaders!
