Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students (my babies) are exceptional. I’m currently teaching K-5 Special Education students with emotional disabilities. My students are in grades 3-5 but their abilities range from K-3.

My students have always had a hard time with school and they explained to me that this is the first time they’ve ever been excited about coming to school and learning new things.

This makes me so proud that I’m making such an impact on their lives.

This is my second year teaching special education. Here’s where I need your help!

My Project

I've implemented flexible seating in my ED self-contained class and it's a hit! My students will love to have the last couple of items to complete our classroom. Currently we have stability ball, floor cushions, crate seats (a DIY project) wobble cushions, and bean bags but we need four wobble chairs. Most of the time my students have trouble being focused. So I like to give my students an opportunity to move as much as possible, choosing their own smart spot for learning.

My exceptional learners range from 8-11, with various disabilities from ADHD to OHI (Other health impairment).

We will greatly appreciated all donations.
