Mrs. Angel Russell-Love from OK is requesting books through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need books that make them see one thousand wishes, experience beauty in learning, and think beyond the present. Our titles include The Three Musketeers, The African Trilogy: Things Fall Apart, No Longer at Ease, and Arrow of God, Siddhartha, Night and more.

My students are ready to meet the all of challenges that are in front of them. We just need to the books that will put them on a level playing field.
I want my students to experience the universality of the human experience.
I look at my limited resources and know in my heart, that if my kids are exposed to reading literature the is representative of world literature my class can push them academically and help them prepare for higher level courses.
This project was born from necessity. I have a class set of novels that my classes will read. When I mapped out my year, I planned for my students to read a novel each quarter. The books in this project will give my students exposure to classic and contemporary world literature. Our titles include The Three Musketeers, The African Trilogy: Things Fall Apart, No Longer at Ease, and Arrow of God, Siddhartha, Night and more.
These books will help me create a literary reading world for my students.
Currently, I don't have enough class set novels that are representative of world literature. My classes have raggedy, outdated books that will not suffice in my large classes. Books in the project will take my students around the literary world. I want my kids to be able to compete on college entrance exams and beyond. Right now, I am working with inadequate resources. The novels in this project will help build a foundation for my students. This will be the start a reading library in our class. When my students take the ACT or AP exams, they will not see success if they have not had exposure to the required reading material for those assessments. I need books to provide them with that much needed exposure. The lives of my student will improve because they will have the resources needed to make our class function as an introduction into the wonderful and exciting canvas of world literature.
