This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Amazing, unique, mysterious, brave, bright, loving......just a few words that I would use to describe my class. Each day in my autistic support class is different and challenging, but I wouldn't have it any other way!
All of my students are different and each day is a challenge, but it's why I love my job.
Some of the easiest things in life are more difficult for them and it brings me pure joy to see them succeed in school and everyday life.
Our school consists of first through eighth grade. Our class is a self-contained, autistic support classroom where some students are mainstreamed into the regular education classrooms. In order to meet the needs of my students and to get them into the regular education classroom more often, I feel it is really important to increase their social skills as well as their academics.
My Project
As the year comes to an end we are needing a new pencil sharpener and our favorite pencils. We have used our pencil sharpener so much this year that we are starting to see that it isn't sharpening as well as it once did. This new pencil sharpener and replacement blade is just what we need.
We need to stay sharp!
We go though many pencils during the week. Most of my students need a pencil with a perfect point and eraser, sometimes it is very difficult to find. Many of our pencils just won't sharpen anymore. New pencils, a pencil sharpener and individual pencil cases are just what we need to make it to the end of the school year!
