This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
My class now is very small and all of my students are enthusiastic readers. I want to encourage them to understand books on a deeper level by having literature circles when given a common focus with a book. I believe this will push readers that struggle into better understanding and higher readers will gain new perspective. The goal is to build my students into motivated, independent, life-long readers. Reading is so exciting and if I can instill that in second graders it is exciting for me! (And also helps them!)
