Help me give my students another opportunity to increase their independent reading skills. These "I Can Read" leveled books will be another resources for our classroom library for students to enjoy.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom consists of 25 active, eager learners. When they enter my classroom in the morning they are excited to begin learning. Each day brings new opportunities for my class to become more knowledgeable, respectful, and responsible citizens.
The students in my classroom live in a low-socioeconomic area.
They look forward to coming to school each day to learn and engage in positive social interactions within the school community. Technology is embedded throughout our curriculum to enhance the children's learning experience!
My Project
The "I Can Read" leveled books will give my students another opportunity to practice their independent reading skills at their level. The books will be used for silent reading time and small group instruction with myself. Building our classroom library will give students the excitement and motivation to continue to read the various books provided. The more types and levels of books available for my first graders, the better!
Independent reading is one of my student's favorite times of the day!
They enjoy going and choosing books that are engaging and interesting to them. If students enjoy the books they are reading, they will be more engaged and focused on their reading skills.
