Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is in a high poverty area where students have grown up with many hardships. The majority of my students are Hispanic with English as their second language. About 98% of our students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch and breakfast.
My students come to my class wanting a safe environment from hardships they may be dealing with outside of school!
These fifth graders know, though, that my classroom is a safe place for them to be. Each one of them is a caring student who holds high values of respect and responsibility. All my students are very enthusiastic to learn and grow their minds for their futures! My goal is to continue giving my students this safe, comfortable learning environment to continue their learning.
My Project
One of my main goals is to keep my classroom a safe environment for my students to learn. If my students are able to stay healthy and safe, they are able to learn.
These items will keep my classroom clean during the horrible flu season, which tries to keep many people home sick.
I will be able to wipe down desks and tables at the end of the day to keep the germs away. Students need the hand sanitizer after a messy activity or after blowing their nose. Those boogie wipes can stay at desks for instant hand cleaning.
The small packs of tissues allow each student to have a pack at their desk, which keeps them from disrupting learning but also making sure they always have a tissue.
The essential oils will be used in our class diffuser. This keeps our class smelling clean and allow students to feel welcome.
The vacuum will keep our floors clean after projects or our afternoon snack.
By keeping my room clean and the germ level down, than my students won't miss as much school. They will be in school more, which means they won't miss out on their learning.
I just want to make sure my students are able to stay healthy and can come to school every day.
