My students need a new table and chairs for a comfortable, safe space to engage in lessons, practice their skills, and prove their knowledge. In addition, they need a way to organize their materials and take ownership of their space.
I am currently expecting my next group of amazing second grade students in a high poverty, Title I school. These sweet little minds come ready to work, play, learn, and develop a variety of skills that will last a lifetime. As my class grows, we need your help to make sure we have the space and ability to accommodate everyone and their needs! We are in desperate need of classroom tables and chair organizers that will provide a comfortable learning space for each and every student.
My Project
We are in desperate need of seating/working space in my classroom. There are currently 18 desks housed in my room, many of which are old, broken, or worn. We have a projection of 27 kids in our class this year, and these incoming students need a suitable space to learn and complete assignments. With the limit on overall space, these tables will accommodate my growing class size, while allowing the students to experience a comfortable working environment. In addition, the dry-erase table tops will allow students to practice skills and cut down on paper usage.
Since we are making the necessary switch to tables, the students will also need a place to store their personal belongings, books, etc.
The seat back pockets will provide the students with this space.
Without this project, my students may enter the room without a proper space to work. We need your help!
