Help me give my students books to understand diversity and integration by reading poetry, the Latino arts and their influence on the United States and creating watercolors paintings and masks to represent their enriched vision of the world.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a Title I school, where 98% of my students qualify for free lunch. Most of my students don't have books at home, nor can they afford basic school supplies. Their only exposure to learning and reading is through our classroom and school resources. My goal is for them to get the right materials so that we can focus on active learning.
We are a Learning Community school, with a variety of students, some who have learning and emotional disabilities.
My students have limited life experiences. Most of them rarely leave our neighborhood, and I know how important it is for them to be exposed to diversity and different ways of thinking. These are kids with so much potential, but at the same time, they need positive venues for that energy. I witness, every day, how proud they are, when they complete class assignments or when they help a classmate. Still, we can do better, and I know that there is room to grow as learners and as members of our community.
My Project
I need books that talk about Latin-American culture and art supplies for art projects.
My school started a Hispanic Heritage club, the community came together to make this happen and we are proud of all the students that signed to be part of this activity.
We are a diverse and supportive school that thrives with integration, inclusion, and multiculturalism. These materials will make it possible for my students to participate in cultural aspects and create art that represents this multi-cultural journey.
Our aim is for this club to open their eyes to a hidden treasure of fashion, music, poetry, and even architecture.
My students come from diverse backgrounds, and even the ones with Hispanic roots had little opportunity to witness the rich culture and art of Latin-America.
