I teach a wonderful group of prekinders with special needs. My students are learning how to communicate their wants and needs, identify and manage their emotions, and learn school readiness skills, as well as how to count, and identify letters and numbers.
My students are sweet, loving, and enjoy opportunities to engage in the world around them in new, fun ways.
We incorporate different seating options, center opportunities, and engage in meaningful play to help every child access their learning. I am constantly learning from them and their unique way of seeing the world.
My Project
Art materials always seem to disappear so quickly! Art is such an important part of early childhood education. The arts allow children to practice a variety of different skills including fine motor practice, early writing skills, sorting, color mixing, and matching. Painting, coloring, and building allow children to immerse themselves in their learning.
My students love to express themselves through art.
These materials will be used as a way for my students to tell stories, explore feelings, and experience multi-sensory literacy and math activities. With the dough, wikki stix, kinetic sand, and dot art painters we will build numbers, letters and names. With the water colors, paintbrushes, and butchers paper we will illustrate stories, create woodlands, grocery shops, and caves in dramatic play where. The glue will help us make collaborative collages. The dip mat, craft trays , and bins will help us stay clean and organized while we work.
