My Students

We are an inner-city school with a high poverty rate and ethnically diverse population. My students are creative and spend their days not only attending core classes like Math, Science, and English, but a variety of art classes like Drama, Martial Arts, Guitar, and Photography.

HFAA prepares students for college in an academically challenging, arts-integrated environment.

Not only are my students involved in extra-curricular activities, they are dedicated to their grades. Many stay at school until five or six pm, either in tutoring or attending a club meeting. My students are well rounded and participate in activities like volleyball, ballroom dance, basketball, cheerleading and a variety of clubs from Student Council to National Honor Society and everything in between.

My Project

We are at the end of the NASKA competitive season for the 2018 year and there is one more tournament that I would like my team to attend, and it is also the last 6A event of the year, which means it is worth more points.

My team has been training hard and we have several students that are ranked in the top 5 in the country in their divisions!

I couldn't be more proud of all of their hard work and I want to see them be able to finish the NASKA season strong.

This will help cover entry fees and overnight hotel stay for the team.
