This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My classroom focuses on meeting the diverse needs of all of my students. Majority of my students come from low-income families. Despite their hardships, they remain positive and eager to learn.
Each of my students is energetic, creative, hard-working, and determined, having their own little style and personality; which ultimately fills the classroom with excitement.
They are exuberant when it comes to technology, hands-on learning activities and working together to solve problems. As children who are being raised in the 21st century, it is essential that they are exposed to a variety of learning styles. In addition to technology, hands-on learning activities allow my students to retain the information adequately.
My Project
Having activity tables in my room will allow students to collaborate. Group activities support critical thinking skills, improve social skills, exposure to new ideas, discussions, and teamwork. Within my classroom, I want to create an atmosphere of collaboration and creativity.
Working together allows students to build on the talents of their peers.
As the old saying goes "Two heads are better than one"; I am a firm believer in that. Activity tables gives groups adequate space to work on projects and to be creative. These tables are an essential part of creating our collaborative and creative environment this school year.
