Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Lively, energetic, and kind are three words I would use to describe my young learners. Every day, they do their best to achieve all that they can. My students desperately want to be actively involved in what they do in the classroom.
Living in a large city can be difficult for many young children.
My young learners live close to the downtown area in our city. They go to a Title I school, where all students receive free breakfast and lunch daily. Their basic food needs, except for dinner, are taken care of, but now they need something to sustain their minds.
My Project
Teaching in a school with an excessively high ESOL (English as a Second Language) population, you would think that my students would know about tolerance. You would be so wrong!
We all have our differences and that is what makes us unique and special!
This is an important lesson that all students and people in general need to learn.
Through the use of the book "We Are All Wonders" by students will be engaged in a shared reading experience. Through the use of this book, my students will learn about tolerance and diversity. They will become stronger and more enriched humans through this experience.
