My students need all of these materials to show that we are all the same no matter how we design our rocks.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
April is Autism Awareness month. This year we will make rocks with all of the materials that I have chosen if we are able to receive this grant. We will be talking about how we are different but really the same. We will talk about Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and how we are here in our multicultural school because of him. I will show the clip of his granddaughter speaking at the March for Our Lives. Trying to instill in the children that we still need to continue to fight for equality!
My Project
These materials will make a difference in my student’s learning and improve the school lives by hearing the words: "You are Special". Lots of times I see my parents walking into my classroom with their phone in their ear. These children don’t get to talk about their day b/c the parent is rushing around. When we do this activity we will have the children at our small group tables. We will play nice, calm music. Each child will get individual attention to talk to the teacher about what their work means to them and why they think they are special!
