My Students

My students are amazing. They are hard-working, inquisitive young people. They arrive at school each day eager to learn. They miss very few school days. This isn't easy in their neighborhood. Many of my students come from single-parent and foster parent households.

My school has about five hundred and fifty students, grades K-5, including four, special education classes.

Our school is one hundred percent Title One. This means that all of our students come from low-income families and all are living below the poverty line.

My Project

This has been and continues to be a difficult time in my student's lives. Because of COVID, the school water fountains are closed. My students need to drink water. They need reusable water bottles so they don't share germs. Regular water bottles tip and leak. This ruins our textbooks. If we get leakproof bottles, I will put names on them so we don't share germs.

My students are working hard at learning to communicate and share.

I would love to be able to be able to make team shirts for them to remind them that we are all in this together. Finally, would like to add gift cards to my positive behavior reward system. Students will collect tickets toward small prizes. Or, they will keep their tickets until they have enough to buy a treat for themselves.
