My students are energetic and enthusiastic little learners! They absolutely love engaging, hands-on projects that allow them to work together to complete a task. They come to school each day ready to learn and be challenged each day through activities and lessons. I work at a Title I school where 80% of the population qualifies for free or reduced lunch. We are very proud of our diverse student population which brings in families and cultures from all over the world.
My students favorite part of day is center time where they get to work individually or collaboratively on a math or reading assignment.
The most popular center is technology (of course!) which allows my students to explore different apps or websites on a iPad or computer. As 21st century learners, they are eager to learn and explore what technology has to offer them!
My Project
These new headphones will allow all of our kindergarten students to clearly hear sight words, numbers, letters and sounds in apps and programs. During center time students are able to choose from different apps on the iPad that support the learning and current standards we are working on. The current headphones we have only work in one ear or are falling apart. We need to replace these with brand new ones that work and function properly.
These headphones will support our mission which gives students the tools to be technologically literate citizens.
We are always striving to incorporate technology into each and every lesson and activity. So many apps and programs require our students to hear and interact or make choices based on what was said. These headphones will give them an opportunity to practice skills they have already learned as well as learn how to navigate a computer.
