My Students

My school has a high percentage of free and reduced-price lunch recipients.

We also have a large diversity of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. This year, I have a mixed ability group consisting of nine boys and eleven girls. Some have grasped reading skills at a faster rate than others, and some need a little more time. They are eager to learn.

My Project

Please help me add books on multiculturalism and diversity into my class library. These books will help me to teach diversity and multiculturalism to my students and show them that not everyone is alike. These resources will allow me to highlight that people from long ago were all from different backgrounds but they all contributed to the making of the United States. I am excited to show my students how different cultures celebrate different holidays and have different customs in their own homes. The most important lesson I want to them my students is that it is okay to be different.
