Kindergarten is full of the most ambitious learners. They are enthusiastic, committed and truly enjoy helping each other learn. This young grade is such a magical time for learning, and my job is to instill and nurture the power of inquiry. After all, the final goal is for them to become productive citizens with the desire to be lifelong learners.
Our school demographics are extremely diverse, which is why I love teaching here!
We have mostly working class families with a very large portion of homes where both parents work. We also serve students below the poverty line, as well as homeless students.
I began flexible seating in my kindergarten room a couple of years ago. I have several options already in my classroom, but I do not have any stools. I would love to offer my kids this option, in addition to my other pillows, discs, balls, etc. Also, the padded stools will be perfect for my new guided reading and writing desks!
Flexible seating is all about giving your students a choice where they sit and providing them with alternative seating options that aren't those boring metal chairs!
However, some do choose the traditional chair. If those students need movement or to fidget in order to focus best, then the Bouncy Bands will be an option, as well.
