Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
They are magnificent artists! They are creative, imaginative and curious about the world and they make everything in our school brighter.
My students are bilingual and always find creative ways to express themselves and their thoughts through art, in new and inventive ways.
Art is truly a universal language that transcends boundaries.
The current circumstances have brought profound challenges to all our lives. For a child however, to be in at home for months without any contact with their friends, is not just a challenge, its time in their childhood.
Please help us bring to our students the art supplies and materials they need, to have the education they deserve.
My Project
This year our students will be learning about different cultures around the world. One of the learning outcomes that they will experience will be combining self expression and color.
By providing sketchbooks and watercolors student will have what they need to learn about the science behind color theory and create artworks that are meaningfull and empowering during this period of social distancing.
Providing the materials our students need is a crucial step to help them grow, learn and create new ways to see the world, elevating their voices and making sure they are being heard.
