My second grade students live in Anchorage and attend a diverse school, one of the most diversified elementary schools in the United States. In our school, our student diversity includes Alaska Native, Korean, Filipino, Chinese, Sudanese, Hmong, American Indian, Mexican, and Peruvian among other beautiful cultures. In the classroom, my goal is to challenge my students with various engaging activities to broaden their knowledge of the learning.
Second graders are curious about all elements of learning, which includes the arts.
My students are eager to immerse themselves in any kind of challenge. They are curious, enthusiastic, and creative. Art is one component of learning all children love to experience in the classroom.
The materials I am requesting are key elements to learning though various types of learning objectives, such as art. In our classroom, art is used in a variety of ways to add an element of academic learning in reading, writing and science.
The high quality watercolor sets and paper enhances students projects.
First and foremost, each student will have their own watercolor set to explore art and incorporate the art piece with poetry writing. The water color paper is easy to use and doesn't frustrate the students when painting. All academics is important, but the elements of art allows expressive freedom for students.
