This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Walk into my classroom and you will see 25 students noisily engaged in learning. Some students may be working together on a puzzle, building an obstacle course for robots, counting with math manipulatives, curled up with a book or working with me in a small group. As a visitor, these students look very similar, but as their teacher, I know which student may not have had supper last night, who stayed with older siblings while Mom worked a second job, whose parents are getting a divorce and which one is homeless and living in a shelter.
Our classroom is a family.
We may not begin the year that way but it is definitely how we end the year. We laugh, cry and celebrate with each other. We care. We love.
My Project
My kindergarten students are so excited about our first ever Water Day at school! I want to help this day to be as memorable as possible for my students.
I am requesting a variety of water toys to make the day fun!
We need water slides, bubble wands and solution, an inflatable rainbow sprinkler. Our school PTO is renting two large inflatable water slides for the day but kindergarten students can be a tad impatient when it comes to waiting for their turn. We hope these water toys will be make the wait seem to pass quickly.
