My students need a water table for their sensory room. Water provides sensory though touch, sight and sound. It provides a relaxing sensation for those who desire it.

My Students

The students at our school are diverse in age, academic, and socioeconomic status. We have Pre-K to 5th grade students that attend our school and encompass many different ability levels. Our school in very inclusive and house two self-contained classrooms for students with developmental disabilities. Kids in our kindergarten room require hands-on activities to learn math concepts they need to be successful this year and give them a great starting point for next year. Thank you very much for considering helping us with our project!

My Project

Having a water table in our sensory room will provide students with the option to relax by using their senses. They can use touch by placing their hands in the tub and feeling the water run over their skin. They will use sight to watch the water run through supplemental tunnels we have and by watching it trickle off their hands. They will also be able to hear it as they play.

The feel and sound of water causes a powerful relaxation to some.

This will help our students with ADHD and autism refocus their minds to help them excel in the goals they are working towards. It will hopefully quiet their bodies and increase their ability to learn new skills.
