The students in my school are economically disadvantaged, and we additionally are a federally designated Title I school. Located in Virginia, many of my students come from households of one parent. Our school provides breakfast and lunch at no charge to all of our students. Students come to school every day with excitement and eagerness to learn and interact with their classmates and teachers.
My three-year-old students come to school for their first time with little to no experience at any kind of education; therefore, my students are thirsty for knowledge and crave a guiding hand.
My goal as their teacher is to ensure that the students feel safe and that our class is a safe place to learn, even a second home for the children. Each day, I strive to reach every one of my students and help them to gain independence and confidence in their learning.
My Project
I want my students to be able to play safely and to be able to practice social skills by interacting with their classmates while using this water table. Our current water table is cracked and has rust on the inside, which is a safety concern for me.
With this new water table, my students will be able to play safely and happily with manipulatives while learning to interact with their classmates.
This water table would be a tool that students could look forward to using each and every single day and be learning at the same time as having fun!
