Help me give my students the tools and test kits needed to perform chemistry analysis of water and soil, as well as measure the quantity and quality of pollution
I've worked private. I've worked with privileged. Working with eleventh and twelfth grade public high school students from low income families is my jam. I currently teach on-level and AP Environmental Science at Putnam City West HS in OKC, OK.
My science acumen (I spent twenty years as an environmental laboratory scientist and cell biologist) is my play book.
My classroom is my new practice field. My curious high school students are my science athletes (and, hopefully some, future scientists)!
While I try to stock my biology and environmental science classrooms with crustaceans, vertebrates, environmental test kits, energy house kits, solar panel car kits, DNA modeling kits out of my own pocket, I always run short financially and donors choose is the only way to get my hands-on science activities/labs funded.
I appreciate you and your contribution. I promise that the money you spend will enrich the lives of my students and further open their minds to the wonders, mysteries and joys of science!
God bless you!
My Project
Invite high school environmental science students to be the next generation environmental scientists and environmental engineers; or maybe, just stimulate curiosity that can translate to use in any career!
High school students will test water, soil and air, including dissolved oxygen, nitrates, phosphates, pH, kH, gH, coliform bacteria, carbonates, calcium hardness, magnesium hardness, nitrogen, potassium, phosphorus, barometric pressure, and turbidity.
Thank you for this wonderful scientific learning opportunity! My students and I are thrilled to know you! We can't wait to share photos and stories once are labs are completed!
