Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I am so very fortunate to have an ENL class that is made up of so many diverse children. Many of my students are immigrants from Bangladesh and come to this country not knowing English. I have the opportunity and privilege to help them become accustomed to the American culture. Many of my students' parents are also very involved In learning the English language.
Being new to the country, many of my students are eager and excited to learn.
They often help each other, and watching them soak up the English language and culture is wonderful!
My Project
I encourage my kiddos to bring in water so they can stay hydrated and cool throughout our busy day. When I look around the classroom I see a room full of plastic water bottles.
A water cooler water dispenser in the classroom would be a great way to help implement recycling!
The water cooler can help eliminate the use of plastic water bottles. Instead of bringing in new bottles each day the kids can reuse reusable bottles so we stop using plastic ones. Time is also always wasted asking to fill up their bottles in the water fountain which is located in the hall. Having a water cooler in class can can also help alleviate students leaving the classroom. Goodbye sugary drinks! Having them able to drink water in the classroom can also promote a healthy lifestyle! The kiddos would love to have this water cooler in the classroom! What a great way to promote and teach so many lessons!
