My students are from a small, rural community and attend a small K-8 school. Our school is its own district of approximately 190 students. One of the most amazing facts about the school I teach at is it happens to be the same school I graduated from, and also my dad before me. The building/campus I teach in is the same one I attended way back when!
In a way, so much has changed and at the same time, the students are just the same.
They are lively, energetic, and love to learn! Our school might be small and our budget is too, but that does not mean I do not strive to give my students the very best of everything they need to make their learning experience the best I can. This way their love of learning can be met with the resources they need. With this DonorsChoose.org project, I will be one step closer to offering my students a comfortable and inviting place to learn.
My Project
Student-athletes can not wait to get back to practice. They can not wait to get back out with their team and start practicing again. When we return there will be particular safety measures we need to follow. Our large grass campus and cross country running paths help lend themselves to spread out. However, one of these resources that we desperately need to provide the girls is a water bottle filling station. We have a broken drinking fountain that needs to be replaced for our student-athletes. With new safety concerns, our girls will need to use a water bottle of their own. So to replace the drinking fountain with a water bottle filler would be great for our girls to use as they run and the coaches.
