Help me give my students classroom books to read that are both fiction and non-fiction. These books will interest my students and help them find a love for reading.
My students are the best. I bet a lot of teachers say this. They are so fun to be around. Each student has a great personality that makes our classroom fun, engaging, hard-working, and unique.
I was very lucky with my class this year.
My students students all seem to care about one another. I have had students constantly looking out for one another in their personal and school lives. I have worked hard with my students in being honest. They understand that honesty is the best policy and if they are honest, they don't get into as much trouble, because it means they understand they did something wrong.
I have more girls than boys in my class, which is uncommon in my grade. This dynamic has made it an interesting class in that we do a lot of acting/dancing in our class. This class challenges me, but they also make me want to be a better teacher for them. I love pulling pranks on my kids and being sarcastic. We love telling stories and really emphasizing what makes each of us unique.
My Project
These materials will help my classroom have classroom books to read. I love reading books together as a class, but we don't have this opportunity very much as I am a new teacher. I lack the resources and I don't want my students to miss a great opportunity.
These books will keep my students interested and find a love for reading.
I love these two books and want to have copies for every student to have a copy to follow and read along. I chose the books Tuck Everlasting and Hidden Figures. One book being fiction and one being non-fiction. We will use these books to complete fun activities in class that have the kids acting, writing, reading, dancing and other items.
