This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students love to show off and tell me what they know. Unfortunately it's difficult to assess what every student knows. Whiteboards allow for an engaging way to check for understanding of ALL students.
My students are eighty sixth graders who attend an inner-city, Title I, kindergarten through sixth grade public charter elementary school.
They are full of energy and enthusiasm for learning. They embody the values of hard work, respect, kindness, teamwork, and responsibility.
My Project
Who doesn't like using dry erase markers and whiteboards!? Students love utilizing instructional tools outside of textbooks and paper. They love showing off their knowledge of the topic by raising their boards high to show the work they've completed. Whiteboards help to keep the class super-engaging and a way for all students to participate at once!
During each lesson, it can be difficult to know what every student knows and what they're still struggling with.
Whiteboards help to alleviate that problem by creating a quick and fun way to pose a question to the class and have every student work on the problem and show their answer. It's an instant way to see which students should move ahead and which students need more help.
