My students need STEAM materials such as the STEAM classroom bundle. When students are able to do hands-on activities, they make connections to what they are learning, which helps them understand how things work.
I am a first grade teacher at M. Elementary. I love teaching 1st grade. I went to school here, so this school is very dear to my heart!
I want to ensure my students have the best classroom possible that promotes hands on learning and higher order thinking.
We have 16 students who all have different learning styles. Some have special needs, others just have a different way of learning. Our students are amazing and with these products, I know we can excel. I strive to bring my students to their fullest potential. Our school is a title 1 school. We also have many special education students who come into general education classrooms on a regular basis.
My Project
My students are discovering their world through their hands on activities. They learn best by doing things themselves. These first graders are active-always moving, growing, learning. Our classroom would greatly benefit from this donation of STEAM materials. The stem classroom bundle has a whole kit allowing students to make new things such as construct their sight words instead of writing them. The tinkertoy delux will all them to use engineering skills to see how things function. The money and time flashcards will be hands on learning for them to learn how to tell tell and handle money! The fun with magnets will allow our students to see how magnets work.
Giving them opportunities to express themselves helps create a sense of identity as it relates to their environment.
They all love to show what they can do. Their brains are developing fast now than they ever will throughout their lives. Having fun while learning is what this age group needs. Keeping their attention is hard work. Their play is their work. And we love working together.
