Our school serves students in grades K-5 and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers and a safe learning environment. The science curriculum consists of a mixture of physical, earth, life sciences and engineering-based lessons specifically aligned with standards that accompany the Core Knowledge philosophy. Currently, all my students are doing distance learning, with numerous lessons pushed out each week by me.
My Project
Most of my students, grades K-5, really enjoy learning science and the key to this enjoyment is to make science fun. If the learning activities are interesting and fun, they come away from my class with a much better attitude towards science and a better understanding of it.
Our school is not like most elementary schools, in that each grade rotates into my science classroom for 2 fifty minute periods a week.

The Pitsco Rocket Launcher allows students to individually build their own rockets with various nose cones and wings, in order to learn about flight, angles and force.
I love how enthusiastic my students are when learning science. I feel that it is the amount of hands-on learning activities I include that contribute to their sense of wonder, discovery and engagement.
