Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Kindergarten classes are very much like Kinder "gardens". Our students come in the first day a little nervous-but so excited to start learning. They soak up all the knowledge they can and then leave us having grown leaps and bounds academically.
My school is located in an area where most students do not have access to resources-including books.
Many of our students are ELL learners and would certainly benefit from practice listening to someone read to them fluently. My students are very eager to learn-asking and answering many questions every day. They have very supportive families who are also willing to read to them and it helps if we can provide the materials to ensure that it happens.
My Project
These books will enrich the lives of my students. With a classroom library stocked with titles from renowned authors and classics that I can tell them I even read growing up-they can learn to have a passion for reading. They just adore hearing the same books over and over, but I want to offer them a bigger selection of materials to choose from, so they can find books that fit their interests.
This donation would mean so much to my students!
They love looking at books and listening to the stories. It would help us set a foundation for a continued love of reading well into the future.
