My students are 9-11 year old bundles of energy. More that 70% of my students receive free/reduced-price lunch. Our school has a great amount of community involvement, but we lack the resources needed to ensure that all of our students get the best education experience possible. Many of my students do not have the opportunity to have access to education resources, materials, and experiences.
My students are AMAZING!
Our school mission is to prepare students to become responsible and productive citizens in today's ever-changing society. We believe it is our obligation to help the students accomplish this through providing a variety of educational experiences in a safe and positive environment.
Our school is working to create an outdoor classroom for all of our students to learn. We have raised flower beds, project tables, and amphitheater style benches to enhance science education, and the addition of a sink and classroom set of garden tools will provide much needed equipment to fully implement outdoor learning.
The garden tools will help students to get their hands dirty in the raised beds and compost box, and the sink will allow us to keep the dirt outdoors(and our custodians happy)!
We have classes who have set up compost boxes, cabbage gardens, weather stations with barometers, and bird watching areas.
