This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
As a Title I elementary school, we serve free breakfast and lunch. A majority of the students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds, and a very diverse cultures. Our students are risk takers, thinkers, open-minded, and inquirers. These students love coming to school because they feel safe, nurtured, encouraged and pushed to excel to their highest potential. This project hopes to build focus and stamina as they work independently in the computer lab.
"Success is no accident.
It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do."- Pele
My Project
Our students, from Pre K to 5th grade, use the computers to complete assignments and reach their Reading and Math Goals. We are building up our students to persevere through the "tough stuff" and take the initiative to find information for themselves. I am so excited by the possibility of each computer/device in the Computer lab having headphones to go with them and the learning that will take place with their use. These headphones will limit the number of distractions for both students on and off of the computers.
Students love to use technology every day.
Having a pair of good, working, quality headphones will allow them to work at their own level to practice skills in math and reading. They can watch videos to enhance their understanding of a topic. They can enjoy listening to a story being read to them. The possibilities are endless!
On behalf of our students, we are grateful for you in advance by showing interest and support! Kudos!
