My Students

Our school has students from kindergarten through eighth grade. About 75% of the students receive free or reduced-rate lunch. I believe with all my heart that our school is the best kept secret in our district. The students, faculty, and staff treat each other as family. It's a safe, nurturing environment for learning and growing students to reach their fullest potential. My goal is to grow students academically and socially by planting the needed skills to find success in life.

My Project

Many students see the outcome of the life cycle of a butterfly. But, where does it really come from? The students can tell you the stages, but do they really know what it means. The students will have a first hand look at the individual stages of a butterfly.

What better way to learn about butterflies than by seeing the process in action in our classroom and virtually.

The students can use all modes of learning. They can improve their art skills by drawing the individual stages as well as their writing skills by writing about their observations.

This process will go into long term memory by doing and foster a love for wildlife. Every little bit to help save our community and environment is beneficial for everyone involved.
