My students need the following items for two reasons, one: flexible seating and two: visualization. Flexible seating and visualization are two great assets to learning in a special education classroom.

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Be Someone! Despite their disabilities, these children strive to be their best and do their best each day. Their goal is to "Be Someone," and achieve life goals. My SLL class (Skills for Learning & Living) teaches our students the fundamentals of learning and living.
My students are a group of diverse students who are truly excited about learning.
Each morning they arrive at school with their backpacks and material needed for a great learning day. Our school is located in a low income neighborhood and is a Title 1 school, but this does not stop our students. Learning is free and available for students who want to learn. As teachers, it is our job to keep their interest and make them want more. At times, our supplies and materials may be limited, but we do what we can to support our students and their future, that is the role of a teacher. Our school has only been opened a few years and each classroom was beautifully built and equipped with the right technology for our students. Our SLL classroom is amazing, but lacks a few supplies for our vocational/ chore assignments.
My Project
Students with disabilities need options and variety.
Flexible seating will allow my students to explore and want to learn in a comfortable setting.
The television set will be used in our living room setting, which will give our classroom a more "home away from home" feel and make the students want to come to school and learn. The living room setting along with television set and flexible seating will be used also as an incentive for my students and also a "brain break." This area will also encourage our classroom family theme and teach family skills and family time with each other. With scholastic available on certain channels, my students will also be able to view stories while being read to. Visual and auditory are important in the world of special education.
