This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I teach in a low income community that I love. The students in my class are very diverse and come from many different types of families. In our school, we strive for the inclusion of all our students every day. My colleagues and I love the work we do and enjoy watching our students grow.

My Project

I would love my students to be able to have a warm blanket for nap time during these cold months. We nap daily, and some do not have blankets for this time. The weather is getting colder and I would love for all my students to be able to be warm and comfortable. Blankets make them feel more secure and more likely to fall asleep. Not all families have extra money to provide a blanket for school, so I would like to do this for them and ease this burden.
