Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We are located in an urban area of New Jersey, which has been described by the media as "the poorest city in the U.S." and "the most dangerous city in America." A full 96% of our students are classified as "economically disadvantaged"; 16% have special needs.

I am a self-contained special education teacher and this year I am teaching a wonderful group of 5th through 7th-grade students.

My students range from 10 years old to 15 years old and would love to have some winter accessories to keep warm this winter. So many of my students do not have the basic necessities that are needed for the winter months ahead. These items would be a wonderful surprise for my marvelous class!
