My students are a very diverse group. We are made up of boys, girls, African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic, Asian, English Language Learners, hard of hearing and deaf children. We may be different from one another, but we all love learning with and from each other! We are a Title I school with large class sizes and a lack of resources. The majority of students qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. We also have many military families as part of our school community. Because of our military population and the transient nature of our city, we often have students moving in and out of our school.
My Project
As the leader of the school's Student Council, I like to help create a school climate that makes all students feel welcome and excited to be there. My Student Council members do a nice job organizing and planning events that make the whole school environment and happy and positive one.
This year, we would like to create shirts with positive messages that will inspire other.
The students will wear these shirts and also pass them out to students who go above and beyond to be kind.
With these materials, our Student Council can create and organize a space that will help them be the best leaders they can be!
