Warm Winter Hands
My students need warm gloves to be able to participate in our equine therapy program. This program runs all year long, even in the cold months. Many students don't have resources for proper winter attire.
My students are from a rural, low income school. Most of the students that participate in our equine program are students with special education needs or are at risk youth. Many of my students have had a variety of negative experiences that impedes their academics.
Without this opportunity to participate in an equine therapy program many of my students would not be successful in their education.
Through this program their test scores have significantly increased, and their office referrals for inappropriate behaviors have significantly decreased.
These warm ski gloves will help students stay warm enough as they participate in the equine therapy program at our school. Many of the students participating do not have resources to purchase proper winter attire like appropriate winter gloves.
The equine program at our school runs year round, even in the cold, winter weather.
Equine therapy is an outdoor activity and the students need to be prepared for any type of weather. Many of the students will show up at the barn in cotton gloves or no gloves at all. Not being dressed properly for the weather can be stressful for students.
These winter gloves will help the students be warm enough so they are able be focused on the therapy parts of their day at the barn.
