Warm & Welcoming Speech Room
Help me give my students a warm and welcoming classroom filled with seating accommodations that allow them to move their bodies and learn in a flexible environment with the colorful floor cushions.
My students are all hardworking superstars that come from various backgrounds, socioeconomic levels, and have varying needs. I serve students from preschool through fifth grade that need extra help utilizing and enhancing their speech and language skills. My students have a varying range of speech and language delays from mild to severe.
This will be my third year as a speech-language pathologist and my first year in a public school in a large city in California.
Because our students come from a variety of backgrounds and exhibit a wide range of needs, it is our job as educators to provide them with a safe, fun, and engaging environment. I want to provide a therapy room that fosters the multitude of learning styles and experiences that push my students to believe in themselves and feel comfortable in their own skin.
These materials will make a huge impact on my students lives by allowing them more flexibility with their seating. Flexible seating will allow them to have better access to the curriculum. The Mystery Box will be used as a fun way to engage and practice their speech and language skills through play and mystery, which is a proven means of learning speech and language skills as supported by many research studies. Lastly, the sticky tack will allow our students to hang up all of their hard work, art projects, and posters for everyone in the school to view and cherish!
