My Project

In this project I am requesting basic items for my students. We are our school system's alternative school. All of my students have been removed from their regular schools and sent to us for various behavioral, academic or criminal activities. In most cases, our students come from poverty. In many cases, they lack basic items. Because of this we are requesting your help.

In all, we are requesting sweatshirts, in various sizes, to keep our students warm during the winter.

Many of our students do not have coats. If they do, they are often too small or extremely old. In some cases, they are too ashamed to wear them. By having this sweatshirts, we can provide them with the warmth they need. Luckily, we are in the South. Sweatshirts can serve multiple purposes.

I realize that some may feel that shirts have little to do with education. Still, if a student's basic needs are not met, it is almost impossible to bring them to a higher level. For many of our students, our school is their last chance in order to turn their lives around. It is our hope to try to even the playing field. Please help to keep my students warm this winter.
