This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The students at our school come from many different backgrounds and experiences. Teaching at a Title I-funded school, I see our students come to us facing many challenges - taking care of younger sisters and brothers, getting themselves up and ready for school each day, worried about their next meal, or if they will be accepted.

It is our job as educators to make sure every student has the opportunity to grow despite where they come from.

Plants are not the only thing we grow at our school! We grow relationships, confidence, and knowledge about the world around us. It doesn't matter who you are or where you come from-you will succeed!

My Project

Being able to provide students with warm winter essentials allows them to safely participate in outdoor activities during the school day and at home! Keeping our students warm during outdoor activities at school and at home is vital in our chilly Texas days.

My hope is to provide my students who do not have warm winter essentials with the opportunity to enjoy their time outdoors during the school day and at home.

When I'm able to take my students outside to learn and play it provides them with interactive learning opportunities that every student deserves to enjoy in warm gear! If I can keep their bodies warm I know their hearts will be warm, too!
