My Students

My students are diverse, warm, caring, and have the biggest, loving hearts. The students I serve are third-grade elementary level students who have many reasons for needing extra care academically, socially, and emotionally. Ninety-eight percent of the students at our school are at the poverty level. A good portion of my classroom (90% of my students) are minority students, and many of my students also have special and unique learning and behavioral needs.

Our students have so much to overcome, but they are smart, resilient, and just need a little extra support to thrive.

Meeting basic needs first will help them to be able to reach their goals. Together, with your help, we can inspire them to know their worth, conquer all, and make great gains!

We want to teach them that they can make a difference and that we are here to help them do that. One way to teach them is to show them that we care and that we can help make a difference for them by helping to meet their basic needs for warmth, care, and hunger.

My Project

My students are wonderful and amazing and hungry! Always, always hungry! We always need help meeting needs for warmth and hunger and we always share with any teacher or room that needs a little extra help.

My students are able to focus much better when their basic needs for warmth and hunger have been met.

These extra backup snacks are part two a few things I forgot to put on our last wish list. Fruit cups and special incentives such as hot chips and extra special treats for birthdays and other celebrations are so important to my students! All to often when we have a celebration we are short on bags to keep the extras or to send home in so gallon bags will come in extra handy. Small container cups help the students to organize their food and keep extra sauces and dips nice and neat when eating.

I was short a few hats and glove sets and was hoping to get a few of those needs met as well as have a couple of extra shirts on hand for spills and such. Thank you for caring for kids who need you and for your kind your consideration in helping us or any teacher in need. Happy New Year!
