My Students

My students are an eclectic bunch of bright, beautiful children from a proudly diverse and historic community.

My students have shown so much growth and excitement in their pursuit of knowledge, and they have truly matured as readers!

They love a wide variety of books, and I would love to expose them to more authors of color! I read the book "Roll of Thunder hear my cry last year, and my students loved the book and related to it so much! I hope to get more of the books for my students to enjoy!

My Project

My students have made tremendous strides in reading, and I want to provide my students with excellent literature including literature from authors of color!

I read "Roll of Thunder Hear My Cry" with my students last year, and since then, I have wanted to get more books in the Mildred Taylor series!

My students have also expressed a desire for more fiction books, and I would like to build up my classroom library in order to continue to foster a love of reading in my 6th-grade students! I am excited to see so much growth and passion in my students' reading journey!
