My students are largely Haitian immigrants or first generation Americans. They come from low-income homes with almost all of them eligible for free or reduced-price lunch. They are sometimes limited to a school-home routine with little or no opportunities to experience anything outside of those places.
Some of the students have never experienced things that other children may take for granted, such as owning a computer and internet, going to a theme park or traveling to another state or country.
They need to see that the world is more than what is between the walls of their home and the fences of their school.
Students perform best when they are in a is safe, healthy, and clean classroom. This project will help me to provide this space for my students in order for them to do their best thinking and learning. The best way to keep germs from spreading is for everyone to practice washing and keeping their hands clean. The Softsoap handsoap and Germ-X hand sanitizer will play a vital role in that. The Lysol disinfecting wipes will be used to sanitize their desks and other spots in the classroom.
A healthy learning environment has been liked with less absences for students and teachers.
With your support, we can create a fresh and clean learning space that both students and teachers will enjoy coming to.
