Do you remember walking into your first day of kindergarten? The walls were colorful, toys filled the room, and your smiling teacher was at the door. Adventure awaited. My kindergarteners are filled with that same excitement and curiosity. They are eager to learn and explore and are full of questions. They come from various backgrounds and see school as a place where they can be individuals and know they are loved. They inspire me daily with their creativity and determination!
My kindergarteners are working hard to become leaders in the school and community.
We have leadership roles in the classroom and encourage each other to be the best we can be. They are eager to share and support each other. These young learners are dreamers, thinkers, and the future of our world. I learn each day with my kindergartens and hope to provide them with the best start possible.
My Project
Kindergarteners learn best through hands-on exploration and play. Fred Rogers said, "Play is often talked about as if it were a relief from serious learning. But for children, play is serious learning. Play is really the work of childhood." My kindergarteners excel when given the opportunity to learn and explore through play. They use their imaginations, learn to work cooperatively, a grow from working together. My students need additional manipulatives, games, and materials to further encourage an inquisitiveness through learning and a love for play.
Center time is a crucial part of our day, and my kindergarteners need additional learning toys to encourage exploration, questioning, and excitement for learning.
Kindergarteners love to work with their hands. New letter and number dough stamps and magnetic letters will provide opportunities for the young learners to create words and read while incorporating sensory needs. Letter games will be used in our center rotations to allow the students to learn independently. My students excel when the given the chance to apply what they know in different settings. New toys to fill our center shelves will assist with our learning!
Kindergarteners benefit from time to explore, create, and show what they know. We work hard in kindergarten to incorporate STEM activities into our daily routine. My students love to hear that blueprinting, building, and constructing are part of learning. Castle blocks and a train set will allow the students to work together during our STEM time. All of my students love to construct and use their imaginations when creating. I hope to help these young learners to develop their creativity throughout the year.
Please consider donating to our project. I know my learners will benefit immensely from receiving new toys and manipulatives for our classroom.
