As a teacher in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students face hardship and challenges both in and out of the classroom. Most of my students receive a free lunch based on their socioeconomic status. My students still find a way to overcome obstacles and hardships daily and enter the classroom eager and ready to learn. The children are very diverse, speak multiple languages, and full of cultural uniqueness.
My learners love to explore literature, visual picture books, and use hands-on materials to increase their learning skills.
The students light up when they are able to make connections to book, are able to relate to content, and successful complete their work. When my students enter my classroom, I focus on providing my learners with the most enjoyable educational experience. But above all, I want my students to know that they are loved and important to me in order for me to provide them with the best education possible!
My Project
This project will make a great difference in my students' learning and increase their academic time in the classroom. The students in my room have an abundance of materials to enhance their language, literacy, and academic skills. The students try their hardest to keep their learning materials together and organized, however, most of the times the students are scrambling to find what they need. Unfortunately, looking for the correct materials becomes challenging and very time consuming.
The students become easily frustrated while looking for their things.
In order to utilize the every moment of the school day to better student's language and literacy skills, we need to be provided with the appropriate organization tools.
My students and I are requesting a donations of colorful bins and a tray organizer to easily manage our papers into groups and subject, pocket charts and desktop charts to organize and make learning materials easily accessible for students, and mounting materials to hang anchor charts and resources for all learners. It is crucial for students to stay motivated and enjoy learning. If students are misplacing their materials and becoming frustrated, they will be uninterested in the academic lessons. Losing the interest of our young learners is the last thing we ever want! Please help us get organized and keep our learners motivated to learn!
